Fifteen years of music!

As you'll probably know by now if you've been browsing around the website, this year we're celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Choral Society.

For a school-based choir to reach such a milestone is a great achievement, one which we're rather proud of. We've come a long way from the first rehearsal, back in September 1994.

Over the years, the choir have sung in some fantastic locations around the UK and beyond. We've sung in both Birmingham Cathedrals, Chester Cathedral, the Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall and more. Abroad, we've toured various parts of Europe including Germany, the Czech Republic, France and Austria.

What a production!

Our annual production is seen by many as the highlight of each year's calendar. Since 2004, our tenth anniversary year, we've been putting on a full production for the entertainment of our audiences. How many of these do you remember?

2004 - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
2005 - Les Miserables
2006 - Carmen
2007 - Thoroughly Modern Millie
2008 - The Pirates of Penzance
2009 - The Sound of Music
...and coming in 2010, My Fair Lady

Sing We a Merry Company

If you're interested in the history of the Choral Society, perhaps you would be interested to know that for our 15th Anniversary we have produced a booklet. As well as photos and stories from the last 15 years, there is also a 19 track compilation CD, made up of songs from our 7 recordings of years gone by.

The booklet and CD are called 'Sing We a Merry Company', and copies are available for just £5, which we think is a bargain! You can get your copy at concerts from the 19th September onwards, or you can email us and we can arrange to have one posted to you for just £1 postage and packing.

We'd love to hear from you!
